OCTFME RECOGNIZES BRANDON "SUPA COOP" COOPER AS THE AUGUST 2025 FILMMAKER OF THE MONTH

Wednesday, August 6, 2025
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – The Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) is proud to recognize Brandon “Supa Coop” Cooper as the August 2025 Filmmaker of the Month, honoring his visionary leadership, dynamic storytelling, and undeniable impact on the film and television industry.

A Washington, D.C. native and military veteran, Brandon is an award-winning producer, writer, and director whose work spans more than 15 years and includes major collaborations with Universal Pictures, Gatorade, and Sony. Known in the industry as “Supa Coop,” his creative brilliance has earned him multiple accolades in cinematography, directing, editing, and producing—with projects amassing millions of views across digital platforms.

“Brandon Cooper is a creative powerhouse whose work continues to elevate the District’s reputation as a hub for world-class storytelling,” said LaToya Foster, Director of OCTFME and D.C. Film Commissioner. “He exemplifies the very best of D.C.’s filmmaking spirit—bold, unapologetic, and committed to excellence. We are proud to honor him as our Filmmaker of the Month.”

Brandon’s journey into filmmaking began not in a film school, but in a cubicle, driven by curiosity and a bet on himself. A self-taught artist, he picked up his first camera after being inspired—and unimpressed—by a movie he saw at work. From that moment, he’s pursued storytelling with relentless drive and now dedicates time to teaching the next generation of D.C. creatives.

His feature directorial debut “Entitled” premiered in June 2025, with future projects already in motion through his production company, Iconek Films.

“Being recognized as OCTFME’s Filmmaker of the Month is an incredible honor,” said Brandon. “I live and breathe film, and it means the world to be celebrated by my city for doing what I love.”
