OCTFME Facilities

OCTFME is located at 1899 9th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20018. The facility functions as the agency's headquarters and operation center for the District's educational and governmental television stations – DCN, DCC and DKN. Prior to OCTFME’s relocation in 2014, the facility served as the production studios and office space for Black Entertainment Television. The 30,525-square-foot facility features LEED certified, fully modernized, digital facility equipped with two television production studios; high definition technology; eight editing suites; administrative offices and a community meeting space.

Technical Core:
The Technical Core is the heart of the operation hosting the entire infrastructure of the facility. All of the equipment that supports the studios, studio control rooms, audio control rooms, editorial and master control is hosted in this climate-controlled room.

 

Creative Affairs and 202Creates (OCTFME Satellite Office)

Located at 200 I St. SE in suite 1800 in DC's Navy Yard neighborhood, the Creative Affairs Office calls this flexible space home. The Creative Affairs Office houses the 202Creates initiative, Go-Go People’s Plan Implementation, Business Over Brand, Care for Creatives, and so much more under the helm of the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, & Entertainment (OCTFME). The Creative Affairs Office works to cultivate equitable and inclusive programming, events, masterclass series and residency programs via 202Creates, and key initiatives that build and enrich our creative communities across all 8 wards to further highlight all facets of the District’s creative community.
