Now Closed: OCTFME Summer 2025 Internships 

We are no longer accepting applications for the Summer 2025 cycle.

  • Spring 2026: October 20 – December 8, 2025 

The Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment (OCTFME) offers exciting year-round internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Our internships provide meaningful, hands-on experience through guided instruction, one-on-one mentoring, and professional job-shadowing across multiple departments. 

Many of our interns have launched successful careers at top media and entertainment organizations after starting right here with us. Academic credit may be earned upon satisfactory completion of the program. 

Academic credit may be earned for satisfactory completion of the internship program. OCTFME hosts interns year-round in the following departments: 

PRODUCTION EDITOR INTERNSHIPS 

The production editor internship takes students who are in search of real world experience in the edit suite and piece together timely projects for the three District of Columbia networks, OCTFME agency websites and social media distribution. 

COMMUNICATIONS & DIGITAL STRATEGY INTERNSHIPS 

Students will be immersed in monthly press release drafting, monthly eNewsletter creation, photo shoots, TV season media packaging rollouts, daily social media messaging, speechwriting and overall agency communications 

202CREATES CREATIVE ECONOMY STRATEGY INTERNSHIPS 

Interns will help identify creative partner organizations, coordinate efforts to add create partner events to the 202Creates calendar, execute 202Creates event planning & coordination, produce video profiles of District creatives, aid in the creative economy strategy planning and learn how to execute large-scale event management on a city-wide level. 

OCTFME LEGAL INTERNSHIPS 

The legal intern shall perform tasks as directed by the OCTFME Legal and Regulatory division. These tasks may include drafting and editing various contract documents, organizing files, conducting research pertaining to legal and contractual matters as well as assisting with special projects, as required. 

FILM DIVISION ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIPS 

The OCTFME Film Division offers undergraduate and graduate college students internship opportunities during the school year and over the summer. Candidates interested in media production administration, production finance, and media industry business management will have an opportunity to gain practical experience supporting the administrative activities of OCTFME’s Film Division. Learn more here

MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT INTERNSHIPS 

The OCTFME music & entertainment internship is an inclusive experience for students seeking a future in the entertainment, production and administration. You will gain industry insight, knowledge, skills and experience supporting the infrastructure of the media and broadcast hub for the District of Columbia local government. 

GRAPHIC ARTIST INTERNSHIP 

Students must be familiar with Adobe software (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator). Knowledge of DSLR cameras is a plus. Tasks will include agency marketing material creation and basic motion graphics.
