OCTFME RECOGNIZES HOTEL NELL - UNION MARKET AS THE MARCH 2025 LOCATION OF THE MONTH

Friday, March 21, 2025
Washington, D.C. – The DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) proudly recognizes Hotel Nell – Union Market as its March 2025 Location of the Month. This stylish 105-room boutique hotel, rich in history and character, offers filmmakers and creatives a unique and versatile setting in the heart of the Union Market District.

“Washington, D.C. is a world-class destination for filmmakers, and Hotel Nell – Union Market perfectly embodies the city’s blend of history, culture, and modern innovation,” said OCTFME Director LaToya Foster. “Its unique architecture, stunning rooftop views, and dynamic spaces make it an exceptional location for film and media productions. OCTFME is proud to recognize Hotel Nell as our March 2025 Location of the Month and looks forward to seeing it shine on screen in future productions.”

With a legacy dating back to 1931, Hotel Nell pays tribute to Nell Bolgiano, who successfully led the Bolgiano Seed Company from the 1950s to the 1970s. The hotel retains the building’s industrial charm while incorporating lush, inviting spaces perfect for storytelling.

Hotel Nell has already served as a film location for productions such as The Real Housewives of Potomac and continues to be a prime choice for filmmakers. The venue boasts three distinct spaces, each offering a unique atmosphere for film and media productions:

•    Treehouse Rooftop – A breathtaking view of D.C. from the north, offering a fresh cityscape perspective.
•    Bolgiano’s Pantry – A cozy spot off the lobby, ideal for intimate breakfast or lunch scenes.
•    Singing Tiger – A speakeasy-style noodle den with karaoke studios, set to open in April, adding a vibrant new dimension to Union Market’s nightlife.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized alongside the distinguished past recipients by the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment. Hotel Nell - Union Market has previously been a film location and looks forward to providing a versatile setting for future media productions,” said Christopher Anderson, General Manager of Hotel Nell.

With its lush industrial aesthetic, panoramic rooftop views, and hidden speakeasy, Hotel Nell – Union Market is a one-of-a-kind filming location that captures both the historic charm and modern vibrancy of Washington, D.C.
