Wednesday, June 11, 2025
Washington, D.C. – The award-winning DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) is proud to recognize Salamander Washington DC as the June 2025 Location of the Month.

Distinction, elegance, and comfort await at Salamander, the newly transformed luxury hotel located in the heart of Washington, D.C. Just steps from the city’s most iconic landmarks and nestled along the vibrant Southwest Waterfront, the property serves as a cinematic gem blending historic charm with modern sophistication.

The hotel boasts 373 spacious guest rooms, including 51 reimagined suites, spa-inspired bathrooms, breathtaking views of the Potomac River and Jefferson Memorial, and refined dining experiences. Among the highlights is Dōgon, the signature Afro-Caribbean restaurant led by James Beard Award-winning Chef Kwame Onwuachi, paying homage to West African heritage and the legacy of D.C. surveyor Benjamin Banneker. At its core is the Salamander Spa, a dual-level wellness sanctuary designed to restore mind, body, and spirit.

With 36,000 square feet of flexible event space, sweeping marina views, and multiple film-friendly settings—including unique suites and an expansive lawn area—Salamander is an ideal location for productions seeking to capture the beauty, diversity, and sophistication of the District.

“From its luxurious design to its meaningful cultural connections, Salamander Washington DC captures the essence of what makes filming in the District so special,” said LaToya Foster, Director of the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment. “We are proud to honor a venue that not only elevates the city’s hospitality landscape, but also serves as a compelling, cinematic destination for storytellers and content creators.”

“We are honored that Salamander Washington DC has been nominated as the D.C. Film Office’s Location of the Month,” said Manuel Martinez, Managing Director. “As a reimagined destination in the heart of the nation’s capital, we are proud to provide a cinematic backdrop that blends historic significance with modern elegance—welcoming productions that share in our story of transformation and creativity.”
