OCTFME RECOGNIZES DUPONT UNDERGROUND AS THE AUGUST 2025 LOCATION OF THE MONTH

Friday, August 15, 2025
Washington, D.C. – The DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) is proud to name Dupont Underground as its August 2025 Location of the Month. Hidden beneath the bustling streets of Dupont Circle (19 Dupont Circle NW), this one-of-a-kind cultural venue transforms a former 1940s streetcar tunnel into a raw, flexible space for film, photography, and creative innovation.

Stretching nearly a quarter mile and offering over 15,000 square feet of curved concrete walls, dramatic industrial textures, and total light control, Dupont Underground has become one of Washington, DC’s most atmospheric filming locations. From gritty music videos and fashion editorials to immersive projection mapping and large-scale set builds, the space offers unmatched creative freedom in the heart of the city.

“Embodying the bold, inventive spirit of DC’s creative economy Dupont Underground is a one-of-a-kind venue. As we welcome more productions to the District, Dupont Underground gives filmmakers a cinematic canvas with the privacy, scale, and flexibility they need, right in the heart of the city,” said LaToya Foster, Director of OCTFME.

“Dupont Underground is unlike any other location in Washington, DC — it’s raw, cinematic, and steeped in history. Being recognized by OCTFME as Location of the Month highlights the growing potential of nontraditional spaces to support creative industries.” - Ana Harvey, CEO

Upcoming at Dupont Underground is the Grand Reopening: September 5, 2025 along with the ALT-DC Exhibition: September 5 – October 5, 2025.
