Monday, July 11, 2016

The DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment recognizes Logan Fringe Arts Space as the July 2016 Location of the Month.

The Logan Fringe Arts Space, located at 1358 Florida Avenue, NE in the Ward 5, Trinidad neighborhood of Washington, DC is a multi-use arts facility that offers a dynamic producing and presenting experience for artists and creative curators. Opened in 2015 by the non-profit organization Capital Fringe, the Logan Fringe Arts Space provides services for independent theatre, live performance, film/video/media production, exhibitions, music and club events.

The Logan Fringe Arts Space comprises three public areas: the Trinidad Theatre, Fringe Arts Bar, and an open air courtyard.

The Trinidad Theatre is a 104-seat black box theatre space with removable chairs, professional lighting grid and sound system. The Trinidad Theatre is an intimate performance space that, when activated, becomes electric with creative energy.

The Fringe Arts Bar is a casual neighborhood bar and hang-out space, with four draught taps in rotation, custom cocktails, light fare and artistic ambiance that can only be describe as “Fringe.” Monthly visual art shows are installed in the space showcasing local talent. Eclectic tables and chairs as well as a mini vinyl and book collection merge to create an exploratory artistic vibe in the space.

The Courtyard at the Logan Fringe Arts Space is the entryway to the venue, with an eight-tap draught selection bar, space for food trucks to pull up out back and whimsical lighting that comes alive in the spring and summer months. Set with cozy cafe tables in bright colors as well as murals on the walls, it is clear why this space becomes the headquarters for Fringe artists to congregate during the Capital Fringe Festival every July.

An on-site facility manager is available to answer any questions about the space, its features and any use restrictions.

Capital Fringe is a catalyst for cultural and community development, and a destination that brings artists and audiences together. Capital Fringe thrives on amplifying the vibrancy of the DC’s independent arts community and enriches the lives of those who reside, work and visit here.

This month, from July 7th through July 31st Logan Fringe Arts Space will be the hub of the Fringe Festival 2016. The annual Capital Fringe Festival, presented by Capital Fringe, creates a city filled with non-stop theatre, dance, music, visual art, and everything in-between. Audiences enjoy non-stop, creative experiences and artists develop their artistic visions in total freedom without any curatorial barriers, enriching the District, its neighborhoods and communities by animating and activating a wide range of local creative spaces— from traditional theaters, to corner bars, to vacant storefronts.
