Washington, DC— Mayor Muriel Bowser and The District of Columbia Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) are pleased to recognize ROSIE FAULKNER as the April 2023 Filmmaker of the Month. Faulkner is an experienced and award-winning filmmaker, producer, show host, and a proud HBCU graduate of Bowie State University (Bowie, MD) with a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems.

“Mayor Muriel Bowser and OCTFME are proud to recognize the trailblazing path of Rosie Faulkner. She strives to overcome barriers in the film industry all while planting seeds for other women in the creative community. Through initiatives like Filmmaker of the Month, we are able to amplify the creative ingenuity of filmmakers and creatives that call DC their home,” says Director LaToya Foster

As a serial entrepreneur, Faulkner is the founder of Rosie Faulkner, a boutique video production company that serves as a premier destination for women seeking to up-level their brand and gain confidence on camera. Her talents as a video coach have inspired women to show up authentically and successfully conquer the world of video production.

Upon starting a fashion blog, Faulkner enlisted in courses to learn about branding and marketing to garner more exposure for her business and help others do the same. Five months later she was certified and premiered "Style Access" on public access cable television station DCTV. Subsequently, Faulkner won the DCTV Voice Award in 2017.

Faulkner is currently the visionary and creator of the travel, fashion, and culinary destination series called In Pursuit of Fashion, Food and Fun ("IPOF3"). IPOF3 DC edition highlights Washington, DC as a premier destination for travelers and locals. The series highlights nine Washington, DC businesses and showcases exciting reasons to visit the nation’s capital with special emphasis on dining, shopping and entertainment.

"Being recognized by Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment is an incredible honor," said Ms. Faulkner. "I thoroughly enjoy what I do and it's a pleasure to be acknowledged for my efforts and my professional achievements."

Faulkner's impressive career has landed her coveted opportunities to work with and interview several celebrities including singer/reality star Tamar Braxton, Emmy award-winning talk show host Adrienne Bailon, and Beyoncé's former stylist Ty Hunter. Faulkner has also appeared on local lifestyle television shows FOX 5's “Good Day DC” and WUSA9's “Great Day Washington” discussing her business and her commitment to the community.

Faulkner knows the power of giving back. She serves as a mentor and life coach for women who aspire to reach their full potential and succeed in media production and broadcasting. Faulkner lives by the motto: "The world's waiting for you to do what only you can. So let's turn on the camera. Turn up the confidence and tell your story."
