Federally owned public lands off limits for film permitting during shutdown

Due to the federal government shutdown, all public lands managed by the Interior Department (National Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, Bureau of Land Management facilities, etc.) will be closed and unavailable for commercial filming until further notice. Areas and locations impacted by the shutdown include but are not limited to: The White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, and the National Mall including the Monument and surrounding memorials.

The Office of Motion Picture and Television Development (MPTD) is not able to process any film permit requests for these locations as they are not within our jurisdiction. MPTD is also restricted from permitting areas that require federal cooperation such as Pennsylvania Ave between 15th and 17th Streets.
