Paramount’s G.I. Joe, the sequel to the 2009 blockbuster hit “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” filmed in the District over the weekend. The production obtained footage of 15th and Constitution Avenue, NW, the US Capitol and other iconic landmarks and buildings.
The new GI Joe installment, which will be released in 2012, will star Bruce Willis, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Channing Tatum. The movie is based on the popular toy franchise with inspiration from the cartoon and comic book series.
