Adams Morgan: The Movie takes an insightful, witty and honest look at the issues facing couples at various points in their relationships against the unique and dynamic backdrop of one of the District’s most diverse and vibrant neighborhoods.

In Adams Morgan: The Movie, one weekend will impact the futures of three couples – one married, one just getting started, and one on the rocks – in this romantic comedy shot on location in Adams Morgan. Weaving together different storylines, the film brings to life the vibrancy of Washington, DC through the various points of view of the men and women who live – and love – in Adams Morgan.

In addition to recruiting local talent in the form of actors, musicians and the film crew, Adams Morgan: The Movie was shot entirely on location. Frequent visitors to the neighborhood will recognize familiar landmarks and venues, such as the Toulouse-Lautrec mural, Smash Records, La Fourchette, Perry’s Restaurant, Meskerem Ethiopian Restaurant and Chief Ike’s Mambo Room among others.

Standout performers in the film include Altorro Black (Sista Wives, Crazy in Love) and Sara Taurchini, who recently starred in Synetic Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of The Master and Margarita. Enhancing these performances is music from renowned local music label ESL Music, home to acclaimed artists such as Thievery Corporation, Ursula 1000 and Ancient Astronauts.

Located at 5612 Connecticut Avenue, NW, the Avalon Theatre began screening films in 1923 and remains a premier site for movie lovers across Washington, DC.
