DCN Presents: Black History Month Through Song

From the plantation to present day events, African-Americans have persevered and prospered through the strength of family and community.  At the center of the struggle and the victories, there has always been music.  Songs of inspiration have provided the soundtrack for African-Americans fight for freedom, civil rights and social justice. And the District of Columbia has been a pivotal place for events and leadership that have significantly impacted and inspired such contributions to not just Black History, but American history as well, both nationally and globally.
