Dave is an Emmy Award winner who formed Metro Teleproductions Inc. in 1989. He began his broadcasting career after graduating the University of Maryland. He started as a radio network freelance news and sports reporter. He was responsible for breaking some big stories—including the story that forced Secretary of Interior James Watt's resignation, before making the full time move to television.
He travels extensively throughout the United States and internationally working in the news, sports, entertainment and political fields. For years clients such as Showtime, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, USAID, HBO, MTV, Discovery, and the U.S. Department of Justice have relied on Dave's expertise to quickly assemble live remotes, top quality crews, equipment and deliver a finely edited production on time and on budget. He regularly lends his services to CBS News in Washington and to MSG Network in New York.
With writer/music historian Bill Scanlan, writer Vinnie Perrone, consultant Dave Nuttycombe and editor Adam Bonsib, Dave is currently producing a 90-minute documentary on The Bayou, the now-defunct Georgetown music club that spanned the music spectrum from Dixieland Jazz with Wild Bill Whelan to Rock and Roll with U-2, Kiss, and Bruce Springsteen. This film, titled The Bayou: DC’s Killer Joint, chronicles the hall’s 45-year history, documenting the unlikely rise and ultimate demise. More than 13 years in the making, the film culls nearly 100 hours of interviews of prominent performers, impresarios, employees and patrons, and exclusive musical footage in a playful and poignant homage to a DC music icon. Dave recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign raising more than $24,000 in the first stage of a fundraising campaign. He was also featured last week in the Value Added column in the business section of the Washington Post. The documentary is slated to air on Maryland Public Television and Virginia Public Television in the 4th quarter of 2012.
Dave regularly lends his services to CBS News in Washington and to Showtime Sports. He currently resides in the Dupont Circle neighborhood in ward two of the District of Columbia.
