DC's first community space dedicated to Inclusion, Innovation & Incubation is a brand new filming locale in the District

The Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment (OCTFME) is pleased to recognize Inclusive Innovation Incubator (In3) as the June 2017 Location of the Month.

The brand-new 8,000 square foot facility is located in the District’s Shaw neighborhood, named one of the five hottest neighborhoods in DC by Washingtonian Magazine. The space is an ideal location for filming with a mix of open floor seating, event spaces, lofted lounges, and a host of private offices, workstations, and classrooms.

“This is a lifelong dream come true,” says Aaron Saunders, CEO of Clearly Innovative who operates In3. “In3 boasts affordable co-working options, complimentary parking, and metro accessibility. It is home to one of the city’s unique ecosystems of creators and innovators. Additionally, our spaces are flexible and would meet the needs or demands of any filmmaker.”

The facility is also equipped with state-of-the-art internet technology provided by corporate sponsors, Cisco and the District’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), making it a versatile location for video live streaming. For example, In3 recently hosted Playbook University, a Politico.com live streaming event and talk with District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser.

In3 is a partnership between Mayor Muriel Bowser, Howard University and Clearly Innovative. Its launch supports one of the mayor’s benchmark goals to make DC the number one city for technology inclusion.

“In3’s architectural design is innovative and makes for an incredible shooting location thanks to our wonderful design partners Wingate Hughes Architects,” says Saunders. “Beyond the look, In3 is a canvas that can be branded, decorated and utilized to set the perfect mood.”

The “Location of the Month” initiative is part of the agency’s mission to market and support District locales as media production locations, and to bring attention to the wide range of cinematically compelling locations that are available to film and television productions.
