DC’s Largest BIPOC Film Festival Returns. official selection for the 6th Annual LightReel Film Festival! This year’s lineup features 82 dynamic films—20 features and 60 shorts—representing bold voices from 15 countries. With a World Premiere and two DC Premieres, the slate celebrates the power and diversity of BIPOC storytelling across genres, cultures, and generations. In addition, 11 original screenplays compete for the festival’s prestigious Black Butterfly Award, highlighting the next wave of visionary writers shaping the future of cinema.
