We're seeking a highly motivated individual interested in managing boutique liveshot studios. You should have 2-4 years newsroom/control room or liveshot production experience; knowledge/understanding of field production/ifb's/mic's/audio; strong guest/client skills and a work ethic that impresses even jaded newsroom producers. You know weekends and holidays are required, but are disappointed that we are only open 364 days a year. You have good organizational and economic skills along with a journalists knowledge of news and politics. You speak 7 languages, have won an Olympic gold medal (we'll accept any sport) and both Mother Teresa AND LeBron James mentioned YOU as their inspiration. In addition, excuse me, (HR is telling me that these requirements might be a little too stringent for our pay scale)...So to sum up:

  • You work hard because that's what you do
  • You're smart and like getting paid to get smarter
  • You're kind-that's no longer negotiable
  • You laugh easy and often.
  • You work hard-because you understand without hard work, the other 3 things don't buy much in our oppressive capitalist society.

What We Offer

Life-Work Balance-The practice/not just a statement of the belief that life comes before work-even in news (of course as long as you crush it at work and understand that you work in news).

We believe in rewarding hard work with long vacations; delicious lunches not always eaten at a desk; and an environment that promotes learning on our dime (do you kids know what a dime is/and that it's not an app?). We offer a competitive package with perks that will make your newsroom friends green with envy and cliches-(and they will tell you this, as soon as they get their 15 minute break, 11 hours from now).

We require a minimum Bachelor's degree, 2 years or more news experience and everything else listed above (we'll let slide the Mother Teresa/LeBron James references, as long as you have other good references).

So if you can bring it, crush it, or whatever kids are saying these days, please forward us your resume. And stay off my lawn.
