(Washington, DC) – The Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment (OCTFME) recognizes Studio 52 as the December 2016 Location of the Month.

Studio 52 is a slick, minimalist warehouse space located in Northeast DC’s Ivy City. Historically an industrial neighborhood, Ivy City is experiencing an exciting commercial and residential revitalization, boasting new retail, recreational, and creative live/work space development. The centrally located venue runs parallel to New York Avenue on Okie Street and is a great multi-purpose facility that delivers a rustic-meetssophisticated interior with a distinctive street level exterior perfect for establishing shots and sidewalk scenes. In early November 2016, Studio 52 moved into their new Ivy City facility. The space is a 2200 square foot modern warehouse featuring a 100-year old reclaimed wood wall with 20-foot ceilings and polished concrete floors. Built within the wood are two vintage 1920s windows from a factory in Cincinnati, Ohio that boast color-changeable LED lights along the interior perimeter.

The motorized glass garage door and open floor plan also make it great for vehicle or large object placement. Several media productions have utilized the space for commercial filming since the space opened in November, including programs from Investigation ID and The Food Network. Other miscellaneous events and pop-ups have also filmed at the location. Loading in for productions in Studio 52 is easy with street level entry. There are no stairs or elevator hurdles, entrants can pull right up to the front façade’s garage door or unload in the easily accessible loading dock in the back of the facility. The space also features a built-in digital photo booth and kitchenette stocked with beverages and a coffee station. Street parking is plentiful and an affordable parking garage is less than half a block away. Since 2011, Studio 52 has provided the nation’s capital with high quality photography and video services.

Their in-house talented team is comprised of videographers, event photographers, and editorial photographers. As Ivy City continues to transform the Northeast industrial corridor into a hot spot with its grouping of local distilleries, restaurants, retail, and residential space, Studio 52 is establishing itself as a go-to location for media production and special events. An on-site facility manager is available to answer any questions about the space, its features and any usage restrictions.
